The Farm

Our show herd of Belted Galloway cows take pride of place on our farm, and we breed and sell cattle throughout the year. This distinct Scottish breed are a hardy but gentle breed and provide a beautiful backdrop to your wedding or event.

If you are interested in this most attractive of breeds please do get in touch as we often have animals for sale.

We grow a variety of crops on our farm including sunflowers, a traditional sight within the Charente, wheat and alfalfa and harvest timber from our sustainable woodland. Seasonal produce from the farm and gardens regularly appear on the tables at weddings and events taking place at Lerse.

More recently we have introduced an alpaca breeding herd, starting with three females, Lillian, Wonder and Lolly. We plan to have our first cria (alpaca babies) in 2024 and will expand the herd over the next ten years.

During your visit to Lerse you will be able to feed and walk with alpacas around our grounds.
